Scentsgallery.com Review: Everything You Need to Know

Aromatic Adventures (and Minor Mishaps) at Scents Gallery

I wanted to treat myself (and my husband) to some new fragrances, so I decided to give Scents Gallery a try. I’d seen their ads on Instagram, showcasing aesthetically pleasing bottles and promising long-lasting scents. Ultimately, the experience was largely positive, but it wasn’t without a few snags along the way.

Browsing the Website

The Scents Gallery website presented a clean and easy-to-navigate interface. Initially, I appreciated the minimalist design. Moreover, the product categories were clearly labeled (Perfumes for Men, Perfumes for Women, Bundles, and Testers), which helped me narrow my search quickly. Furthermore, each product page showcased high-quality images of the perfume bottles. These images provided different angles and gave me a good sense of what they actually looked like. However, I would have appreciated it if they had included some lifestyle shots featuring the perfumes in use.

On the other hand, the scent descriptions were a bit generic. While they listed the main notes, they lacked the evocative language that really makes you imagine a fragrance. For instance, instead of just saying “rose,” they could describe it as “a velvety Damask rose kissed by morning dew.” That added sensory detail would be far more helpful. Additionally, I found myself wishing they had a “compare” feature to easily stack up similar perfumes side-by-side. I ended up opening multiple tabs and trying to remember the details not the smoothest process.

Making a Selection

The “Bundles” section initially caught my eye. The “Desiring Man & Vintage Lilly – Bundle for Him & Her” seemed like a good option. My husband usually prefers woody, masculine scents, so I was hoping “Desiring Man” would fit the bill. I liked the sound of “Vintage Lilly” for myself. It seemed like a classic, floral scent that would be suitable for everyday wear. Finally, after comparing several options, I decided to add the bundle to my cart. It seemed like a good value, especially with the sale price.

However, I also wanted to test a scent before committing to a full bottle. Consequently, I was happy to see that they offered testers. I added a tester of “Oud Rose” because I am very curious about this blend. Therefore, my purchase was complete!

Checkout and Delivery

The checkout process on Scents Gallery was relatively straightforward. The site accepted my preferred payment method. I received an order confirmation email almost immediately. The estimated delivery time was 3-5 business days, which seemed reasonable. However, the shipping updates were a bit sporadic. I received an initial notification that my order had shipped, but there were no further updates for several days. Consequently, I started to wonder if something had gone wrong.

Finally, the package arrived on the fifth business day. The packaging was secure, and everything arrived intact. It looked carefully packed! Although the delivery process had a few delays, the product arrived in perfect condition.

Product Quality: The Fragrance Experience

The moment of truth finally came: smelling the fragrances. Firstly, “Vintage Lilly” was exactly as I hoped. It’s a light, feminine floral with a touch of sweetness. Also, it’s perfect for everyday wear and doesnt feel overpowering. The lasting power is decent; I can still smell it subtly on my skin after about four hours.

Secondly, my husband also liked “Desiring Man.” It has a warm, woody aroma with a hint of spice. He’s worn it a couple of times now and received compliments, so that’s always a good sign! Also, the scent seems to last a good 6-7 hours on him.

Finally, the “Oud Rose” tester was an interesting surprise. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this combination, but it’s surprisingly balanced. The oud gives it a grounding earthiness, while the rose adds a touch of elegance. While I’m not sure if I would purchase a full bottle, I enjoyed trying something different. The quality of all three fragrances is good, particularly considering the price point.

Customer Support Encounter

Unfortunately, my experience with customer support wasnt as seamless. As I mentioned, the shipping updates were sparse. After not receiving any updates for three days after the initial shipment notification, I decided to reach out to customer support. I sent an email through their website. To my dismay, it took them two days to respond. That’s too long in todays world.

When I finally received a reply, it was polite, but not particularly helpful. They simply told me that my order was “in transit” and would arrive soon. They offered no explanation for the lack of updates. Thankfully, the package did arrive the next day, so the situation resolved itself. But the delayed response was a bit disappointing. I expect faster and more detailed support.

Final Thoughts

Overall, shopping at Scents Gallery was mostly positive. I was pleased with the quality of the perfumes. Additionally, I was happy with the prices, especially with the sale discounts. On the other hand, the lack of detailed scent descriptions on the website and the slow customer support response definitely need improvement. Consequently, if Scents Gallery can address these issues, they have the potential to become a truly excellent online fragrance retailer. I’d consider buying from them again, especially if they improve their communication and website details.
