My Perfumes: A Fragrant First Impression

Browsing and Selection

I’ve been on the hunt for a new signature scent for months now, something that blends well with my body chemistry. Tired of the usual department store offerings, a friend suggested exploring Arabian perfumes. That’s when I discovered My Perfumes online.

The website itself presents well. At first glance, it seemed easy enough to navigate. The layout is clean, and I appreciate the prominent display of new launches and bestsellers. I was particularly drawn to the “Arabiyat Prestige” collection, as I’d heard whispers of its quality and unique blends.

The “Shop by Brands” section is helpful, even though I wasn’t necessarily tied to a specific brand. Still, it’s a nice feature to have. I liked the way products displayed with clear images, making it easy to get an initial impression. However, I felt there was room for improvement. The product descriptions could provide a little more detail about the scent profiles; currently they feel a bit generic. While the site lists top, middle, and base notes, there’s little elaboration, leaving you somewhat in the dark about the overall impression.

Checkout Experience

Once I’d settled on the “Arabiyat Prestige – Lychee Musk,” I proceeded to checkout. Adding the item to my cart was seamless enough. So far so good.

The checkout process itself presented no major issues. I appreciated that I could checkout as a guest without needing to create an account. Although, since the website tempted me with 20% off my purchase if signed up to their email list I decided to become a new customer. It involved the usual steps: entering my shipping address, choosing my delivery option (of which there was only one, so not much of a choice there), and providing my payment information. The site accepts major credit cards which I found reassuring.

Delivery and Packaging

Heres where things hit a slight snag. The estimated delivery time was a little vague. I knew it’s shipping from the UAE, so I expected it would take a while but a precise timeline wasn’t provided during checkout, only a very rough estimate. As it turns out, the package arrived right within the estimated timeline they provided.

The packaging was secure. The perfume bottle was snugly nestled in bubble wrap inside a sturdy box. I could tell they put an effort in to make sure the glass bottle didn’t break.

Scent and Longevity

Finally, the moment of truth! I eagerly unwrapped the Lychee Musk, intrigued by the unusual combination. Initially, I liked the scent. The lychee note is bright and playful, while the musk adds a warm, grounding element. However, on my skin, the musk was stronger than I anticipated. Also, theres a slight synthetic scent. Still, for the price, it’s not bad.

My biggest disappointment lies in the longevity. The scent fades after a mere two or three hours. I’ve tried applying it to different pulse points and even layering it with other products, but nothing seems to extend its staying power. I would expect an EDP (Eau de Parfum) to last much longer than this.

Customer Support

I had a quick question about the ingredients (specifically, if the perfume contains any alcohol denat, as my skin is sensitive to it), so I tried to contact My Perfumes through their website. I used the Contact Us form and submitted my inquiry.

Unfortunately, I never received a response. It’s been over a week, and I’m still waiting. A little disappointing. Granted, it was a fairly minor question, but it wouldve improved my shopping experience and trust with the company.

Overall Impression

My experience with My Perfumes has been a mixed bag. On the one hand, the website is visually appealing, the checkout process is smooth, and the packaging ensures the product arrives safely. However, the lack of detailed product descriptions, uncertain delivery timelines, subpar longevity, and unresponsive customer service significantly bring it down.

The Lychee Musk is a nice scent, especially considering the price point, but I cannot see myself using it for long. The lack of detail and quality doesn’t meet my standards.

Would I shop at My Perfumes again? Perhaps. However, Id do so with tempered expectations. If you’re looking for budget-friendly Arabian perfumes and are not overly concerned about longevity or detailed information, My Perfumes might be worth exploring. However, if you’re after high-end quality and responsive customer support, you might be left disappointed.
