An Interesting Find, But Room for Improvement
A friend showed me Hirabition a couple weeks back. They had this cool little gadget that I complimented, and they said they got it for a steal on this site. Naturally, I was intrigued. The website promises to curate buzzing social media products at low prices, a tempting proposition for someone who enjoys finding unique items. My experience was overall positive, yet some aspects need attention.
Navigating the Hive
The Hirabition website has a clean, fairly straightforward design. Its easy enough to browse through the showcased products. However, the search function leaves something to be desired. I tried searching for “desk organizer,” and the results were oddly specific, showing me a few items, but not things I would classify as just a desk organizer. Then again, I did find an owl guardian. It looks quirky, but I didn’t need it.
Initially, I was drawn in by the Wine Glass Smoke Machine. It appeared playful. Eventually, I settled on the Bionic Swimming Lure and the Jumbo Lightning Sweary Mug. My family has some fishermen, and they could test it. As for the mug, well, I do enjoy a coffee with a bit of humor in the morning, and I could use a large mug.
Checkout Chills
Adding items to the cart was smooth. The prices are in Indian Rupees (INR), which is not my native currency. Consequently, I had to do a quick conversion. This can easily add an extra step for some customers, so maybe offering other currency options could work in their favour.
Checkout was relatively painless, requiring standard information like address, email, and payment details. Thankfully, I encountered no unexpected errors or confusing prompts. While I prefer using PayPal, I ended up providing my credit card information. I felt secure because the site indicated that the payment method was reliable, which gave me relief, after initially having concerns.
Delivery Disappointments
Hirabition offers free shipping on orders over 4837.57. My order qualified. Thus, shipping was free. I was very pleased with that.
The estimated delivery timeframe was 7-14 business days. It actually took closer to 16, which was frustrating, especially since I was eager to test out the swimming lure. Delays happen. An email about the delay would have eased my worry. When the package finally arrived, it came in a plain cardboard box with sufficient packaging to prevent damage to the mug, which could be fragile.
Product Perceptions
The Bionic Swimming Lure looks just like in the pictures on the website. The quality seems decent for the price point. I gave it to my brother. He took it out to the lake. He told me it worked pretty well. Thus, he enjoyed it and I made a good buy.
Now, the Jumbo Lightning Sweary Mug lived up to its “jumbo” title. Its HUGE! The design looks crisp and clean, and the material feels sturdy enough to handle daily coffee consumption. The swear word is hidden well enough to avoid the sensibilities of any house guests! It did have a funny smell to it when it came out of the packaging, which has decreased over time.
Customer Service Conundrums
I didn’t have any problems. Thus, I did not contact customer service. However, after doing some research, I learned that response times were slower. This seems concerning, because customers want to know the issue will be resolved and not ignored.
Final Verdict
Hirabition is a mixed experience. I give it three and a half stars out of five. On the one hand, it offers a unique selection of products. Furthermore, the prices seem reasonable. On the other hand, delivery times are rather unpredictable, and customer service responsiveness might not be up to par for everyone’s standards. Ultimately, it depends on what you are looking for. However, the savings might be worth it. I will probably order from them again when another weird or intriguing thing pops up that catches my eye.
